Govt decides to present ordinance to appoint office-bearers in constitutional bodies
While three ordinances remain pending at the President's Office, the government has decided to forward one more ordinance to the President to amend the laws on appointment in constitutional bodies.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers Monday afternoon decided to foward the ordinance. A number of posts in constitutional bodies such as the Election Commission, Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority and Public Service Commission remain vacant for a long time.
Today's cabinet meeting also could not name the new chief of Nepal Police owing to differences between the Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Home Minister Bijay Gachchhadar.
Meanwhile, the cabinet decided to bear all the expenses of medical treatment of pioneering republican leader Ram Raja Prasad Singh. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kathmandu. nepalnews.com
