Inaugurating the 20th National General Convention of the Federation of Nepalese Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) and the 18th conference of National Women Entrepreneurs in the capital on Tuesday, PM Bhattarai said the government was formulating necessary policies for promotion and development of domestic industries.

Bhattarai also directed the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) to play more active role for in promoting the industrial sector.

Saying that cottage and small industries are major source of earning foreign currency, Bhattarai assured of government’s support to address the problems faced by this sector.

He also informed that the government was effortful to generate employment opportunities by utilising resources through Youth Self-Employment Programme to stop youths from opting for foreign employment.

Nepal could benefit from double digit economic growth achieved by India and China, said Bhattarai urging entrepreneurs to support for economic prosperity.

On the occasion, chairman FNCSI Lata Pyakurel said the government should introduce more clear policies and practical laws to promote cottage and small entrepreneurs. nepalnews.com
