CDO starts campaign to rid Rajbiraj municipality of stray pig menace
Chief District Officer (CDO) of Saptari district led a pig controlling campaign as there was criticism everywhere that the town was littered because of the stray pigs, As the Rajbiraj Municipality tried its best for control but failed in its efforts, CDO Hari Raj Pant himself took the initiative after the municipality informed of its inability to control the same.
Assisting the CDO are SP Ganesh Bahadur Thapa, Armed Police SP Bechan Yadav, National Investigation Office Director Ishwori Shrestha, Major Ramprasad Adhikari, DSP Govind Adhikari, Senior Veterinary doctor Kashi Nath Yadav, Municipality Officer Prafulla Shrestha, staff and town youths.
They had taken control of seven pigs till Tuesday.
They will be left in the forest of the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve buffer zone and the campaign will be given continuity, CDO Pant told RSS.
The town has become filthy as pig owners leave them from morning until night and people are in more trouble.
Senior veterinary doctor Yadav told RSS that epidemic can be spread in Rajbiraj if the pigs and cattle are not managed and can spread diseases of mind, swine influenza, and infertility, among others. nepalnews.com
