Salt Trading's profit, transaction increase in fiscal year 2011/12

Salt Trading Corporation (STC) has made a net profit of around Rs. 800 million in the fiscal year 2011/12 while the same stood at around Rs. 600 million in the fiscal year 2010/11.

In a programme organised to mark the 50th anniversary of STC here in the capital on Wednesday, general manager at STC Urmila Shrestha informed that the transaction volume of the corporation stood at Rs. 4.61 billion in the fiscal year 2011/12 while the same was Rs. 3.87 billion.

On the occasion, the government officials have also urged the corporation to play vital role in controlling price hike in the daily essential commodities along with maintaining transparency to facilitate the consumers. nepalnews.com
