CPN-M plans to impose half-day long strike Friday
Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) has called a half-day long nation-wide general strike (Nepal bandh) on Friday to protest against the government’s decision to hike prices of petroleum products.
The Mohan Baidya led CPN-M had earlier decided to impose a day-long bandh, but reduced it to half-a-day in view of the Children’s Day that is being celebrated on the day and upcoming Teej festival.
Issuing a release to inform about the Friday's protest programme against petro-price hike, CPN-M said the bandh will be enforced from 6 am to 12 noon. nepalnews.com
