'Parties should agree on identity-based federalism to end political stalemate'
Organization Department Chief of the UCPN-Maoist Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said there is no alternative for the political parties other than agreeing on identity-based federalism to end the current political deadlock. He also stressed on the need for a constitution that guarantees federalism in order to ensure the rights of the people.
Speaking at an interaction on "The Country's Crisis and Women's Role," organised today in Ghorahi, Dang by the All Nepal Women's Association- Revolutionary (ANWA), he stressed on the need for strong unity among the suppressed communities, gender and classes to fight for their rights.
Also speaking at the programme, UCPN-Maoist Convention Organizing Committee Member Sushma Sharma Ghimire said Nepali women have long been suppressed by the 'feudalist regime' and the Teej Festival is just a symbol of women's slavery.
