NEPSE index soars by 11 pts
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 11 points to settle at 418.90 points on Thursday in the five trading days last week.
As per the sub-indices of the secondary market, insurance, hotels, commercial banks, trading, finance, development banks and other groups gained 36.59 points, 25.84 points, 20.54 points, 10.40 points, 6.57 points, 3.77 points and 1.44 points, respectively.
Similarly, manufacturing and hydropower groups witnessed decline by 6.66 points and 3.35 points, respectively.
Over the week, the secondary stock market traded with 130 companies registering a turnover of Rs. 369.96 million while it had traded with 127 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 341.81 million in the previous week.
Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 222.8 million which is 60.25 percent of the total turnover.
Chilime Hydropower Company topped the chart in terms of the highest transaction registering 49.84 million over last week.
Similarly, Nepal Life Insurance Company registered Rs. 35.29 million, Everest Bank Rs. 29.87 million, Nabil Bank Rs. 22.76 million and Nepal Bangladesh Bank Rs. 19.22 million were among the top five companies to have the highest transactions over the week. nepalnews.com
