‘Talks about resurrecting CA holds no meaning’

Central member of the Nepali Congress (NC) Arjun Narsingh KC has said that talks about reinstating the Constituent Assembly hold no meaning when it has already been proven a failure.

Speaking at a news conference organised by the Nepal Press Union, Morang, in Biratnagar on Sunday, he said reinstating the CA, which could not deliver the constitution even in four years, for a short period for the same purpose is a meaningless discussion.

KC made it clear the political parties should not waste their time in such futile exercise, adding that his party is in favour of going to the people for fresh mandate for the CA.

He also accused the ruling UCPN (Maoist) party of being solely responsible for the current political stalemate as they have move ahead willfully without giving due regard to the main essence of the interim constitution – consensus, collaboration and unity. nepalnews.com
