Major parties holding 'decisive talks' today
Leaders of four major political groups - UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, UML and Madhesi Front - are sitting for talks today which they said are going to be decisive.
A meeting of the four parties on Tuesday had decided to take final decision from today's talks on whether to reinstate the Constituent Assembly or go to polls. They also agreed to go to polls provided they failed to arrive at a consensus on CA reinstatement.
The UCPN (Maoist) has been pressing for CA reinstatement but the NC and the UML remain internally divided on the proposal.
Some leaders in the two opposition parties have opposed the idea of CA reinstatement and that the next elections should be that of legislature parliament, not CA. However, the Maoists have been saying that if the polls are to be conducted they should be for the CA. nepalnews.com
