Bhattarai-led govt will hold new polls, claims Pun

Finance Minister and UCPN (Maoist) leader Barshaman Pun Thursday claimed that the current Baburam Bhattarai-led government would conduct the fresh Constituent Assembly elections.

Pun also claimed that an environment for turning the current government into a government of national consensus was building up.

Talking to media persons at Janakpur Airport, he said preparations were afoot to declare elections for May or June after forging consensus between the parties.

Minister Pun's comments came a day after a meeting of the four major political forces decided to go for fresh CA polls as they failed to agree on the Maoist proposal to reinstate the dissolved CA.
