Govt agrees to meet disqualified combatants' demands

Government has expressed its commitment to implement earlier agreement to provide package to the disqualified combatants of the UCPN (Maoist).

Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Top Bahadur Rayamaji and Lenin Bista, representative of the disqualified combatants signed the four point agreement after the talks at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction on Wednesday, in which government expressed its commitment to take a concrete initiation to implement previous agreement to provide package to the combatants who were disqualified by the then United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) during verification process and provide medical expenses to the combatants who were injured during war and later declared disqualified.

Following the talks, the disqualified combatants have withdrawn all programmes of protests including bandh (shutdown strike) called for Sunday and Monday. nepalnews.com
