NC rules out fresh polls under existing government

Office bearers' meeting of Nepali Congress (NC) Friday concluded that it was not possible to hold fresh election under the leadership of existing government.

The meeting held at party president Sushil Koirala's residence in Maharajgunj also stressed that unity government should be formed under NC's leadership before going for the polls.

Emerging from the meeting, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai should step down to pave the way for consensus government under NC's leadership.

According to him, the meeting also decided to continue negotiation with other political parties for the same. Nepalnews.com
