WWF has announced Conservation Awards aiming to encourage media, individuals and local communities for biodiversity conservation in Nepal.
Organizing a press conference in Kathmandu on Saturday, WWF made announcement the award under organisation and individual category.
Under the organisation category of 'Abraham Conservation Awards', Kalika Community Forest in Dang, Langtang Area Conservation Concern Society in Rasuwa, Nanda Box Batallion in Chitawan district have been awarded.
Similarly, under the individual category of 'Abraham Conservation Awards', Gyan Bahadur Shah in Kailali, Hengwa Tharu in Bardiya and Praveen Pokhrel, Deputy Superintendent of Nepal Police have won the award.
Similarly, Nanda Devi Kunwar, Chairperson of Madhu Malati Community Forest in Kailali won Special Conservation Award.
Krishna Mani Baral, Pokhara based correspondent of the Himalayan Times and Annapurna Post bagged the WWF Media in Conservation Awards under individual category.
