Viral fever outbreak hits Udaypur district also; claims five lives

After causing a number of deaths and havoc in Chitwan and Dailekh, the viral fever outbreak has gripped Udaypur district also.

So far, five persons have died of viral fever that broke out since the past one week in Triyuga Municipality and Beltar of the district.

District Public Health Officer Duniya Lal Chaudhari said four persons have died while receiving treatment for viral fever in Beltar area and one in Triyuga municipality in the past one week.

The victims of the killer disease have been identified as Santosh Rai, 13; Milan Karki, 18; Indra Bahadur Rai, 13; and Yam Kumari Rai, 12 of Beltar area.

The identity of another deceased from Triyuga could not be ascertained.

The number of people getting admitted to the Udaypur District Hospital after falling ill due to the disease has been growing steadily. On an average, over 500 patients come to the hospital daily to get treatment, doctors said.

Six persons have died in Dailekh and six more in Chitwan and hundred more have fallen ill due to viral fever in the past one month. nepalnews.com
