NEPSE index plunges slightly
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has plunged by 0.38 points to settle at 420.45 points on Thursday, over last week.
As per the sub-indices of the secondary market, commercial banks experienced downward slide by 3.73 points, manufacturing by 15.80 points and insurance by 10.84 points. However, hotel posted positive growth by 2.84 points, other 12.92 points, hydropower 9.09 points, trade 2.28 points, finance 1.11 points and development banks 1.37 points.
Over the week, the secondary stock market traded with 125 companies registering a turnover of Rs. 629.59 million while it had traded with 130 companies registering a turnover of Rs. 369.96 million in the previous week.
Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 274.4 million which is 43.59 percent of the total turnover.
Machhapuchchhre Bank topped the chart in terms of the highest transaction registering Rs. 158.39 million over last week.
Similarly, Chilime Hydropower Company registered Rs. 91.10 million, Arun Valley Hydropower Company Rs. 42.17 million, Kist Bank Rs. 39.25 million and Everest Bank Rs. 33.26 million were among the top five companies to have the highest transactions over the week. Nepalnews.com
