NC-called meeting of oppn parties today
The Nepali Congress has called a meeting of the opposition political parties Monday afternoon to discuss strategies to remove the Baburam Bhattarai-led government.
Some 11 opposition parties including the CPN (UML) are to participate in the meeting at NC headquarters, Sanepa, at 2 pm.
The opposition parties are meeting in a bid to step up pressure on the government to step down. They are apparently alarmed by the decision of the Maoist-led ruling alliance on Saturday to make efforts to turn the current government into an election government.
In today's discussion, the UML and other parties are expected to pressure the NC to announce its prime ministerial candidate. The UML has already declared its support for NC's leadership in the next government. nepalnews.com
