Various political parties enforced chakkajam (transportation halt) for one hour in Tanahu along Prithvi highway Monday morning as a symbolic protest against former king Gyanendra Shah's visit to Damauli.

The former king, who is on a week long trip to Gandaki and Ghaulagiri zones, is scheduled to visit Shiva Panchayan temple and Byas cave in Tanahu today.

The former king's trip has sparked protest in various districts as he is accused of trying to take political advantage of country's political imbroglio. nepalnews.com
