UCPN (M) chair Dahal assures construction of int'l airport in Pokhara soon

The UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Monday met with the members of a pressure group, who been staging relay hunger strike demanding construction of regional international airport in Pokhara and assured them that the government would start process of construction of airport soon.

He told members of the pressure group that Finance Minister Barshaman Pun would go to China to talk to Chinese authority regarding the construction of international airport in Pokhara.

"Finance Minister will, himself, go to China to take final decision regarding construction of international airport in Pokhara as there are some legal hurdles which need to be removed," he added.

Stressing on the need for construction of airport in Pokhara 'at any cost', Dahal urged pressure group members to change the form of protest and be supportive to the government.
