Nepal promotes Lumbini in Japan tourism fair
Nepal promoted Visit Lumbini Year 2012 in Asia`s biggest Travel Trade Show - JATA Tourism Forum & Travel Showcase held in Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan, from 20th to 23rd September 2012.
“Lumbini was a special feature of the Nepal pavilion during the show. The visitors to the Nepal pavilion also inquired about the various air connectivity from Japan to Nepal as well as about different trekking routes and accommodation facilities offered by Nepal.” According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) press statement.
Nepal's delegation was led by Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Posta Bahadur Bogati. The programme was held in coordination with Nepal Association of Tour operators (NATO).
NTB along with private sector representatives participated in Asia`s biggest Travel Trade Show - JATA Tourism Forum & Travel Showcase.
Minister Bogati, Nepal‘s ambassador to Japan Madan Kumar Bhattarai and officiating CEO of NTB Subash Nirola represented Nepal at the inauguration of JATA held on September 21.
On the occasion, Minister Bogati commended NTB `s effort in promoting Nepal in Japan and interacted and encouraged other private sector participants from Nepal to put more marketing and promotion efforts in Japan being an important source market for Nepal’s tourism.
JATA 2012 saw more than 150 countries and territories and over 700 companies and organisations take part in the four day event.
The programme also included International Tourism Forum where issues relating to tourism were widely discussed.
A business to business (B2B) session was also held between the buyers and sellers from various destinations. nepalnews.com
