Various opposition parties including Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have decided to announce protest programmes to exert pressure on Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to step down on Thursday.

A meeting of opposition parties held at UML headquarters in Balkhu decided to announce the protest programmes concluding that Baburam Bhattarai led government was the major obstacle to consensus.

Emerging from the meeting NC vice president Ram Chandra Poudel said that today's meeting agreed to decide form of protest on Thursday after holding further discussion among the parties.

"We have already agreed to go for protest, today's meeting decided to implant the decision taken earlier," he added. Nepalnews.com
