PM Bhattarai rules out his resignation without package deal
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that he would not resign from the post until political parties strike deal in package.
Talking to the reporters in Nawalparasi on Thursday, PM Bhattarai said that his resignation would not help end current political deadlock until political parties settle their differences in the package.
His remarks come at a time when opposition parties are preparing to announce protest programmes against the government saying that PM's resignation was the precondition for consensus.
PM Bhattarai also said that he has not even thought of resignation under the existing circumstances.
He stressed on the need for forging consensus on the disputed issues including date for fresh Constituent Assembly election, electoral system, and consensus government in package.
PM Bhattarai also accused the opposition parties of creating obstacles to consensus by demanding his resignation instead of taking initiation to iron out the differences between the parties. nepalnews.com
