Women’s Nat’l T20 Cricket Tournament: Biratnagar, APF win
Region No. 1 Biratnagar defeated Region No. 8 Pokhara by 4 runs in the ongoing Wai Wai Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament played at Nagar Bikash ground in Pokhara on Thursday.
Electing to bat first, Biratnagar posted a target of 69 runs with the loss of six wickets in 20 overs as Rashmi Chaulagain scored highest of 26 runs for the winning team. She was also declared player of the match.
Chasing the target, Pokhara managed to collect only 64 runs with the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Neha Karki and Rashmi grabbed two wickets each while Sapana Shrestha took one wicket for Biratnagar.
Sushila Gurung scored 23 runs and Pragya Pokhrel scored 15 runs for Pokhara.
Similarly, Armed Police Force (APF) defeated Region No. 5 Nepalgunj by 53 runs in another match of the day at the same venue.
Electing to bat first, APF scored 91 runs losing five wickets in 20 over as Sita Rana Magar scored 34 runs and Rubina Chhetri scored 15 runs.
Nepalgunj were restricted to 38 runs all out in 16.2 overs as Karuna Bhandari grabbed three wickets while Sonu Khadka and Sarita Magar took two wickets each and Rubina Chettri took one wicket.
Rubina was also declared player of the match.
