Some dissident Janajati UML leaders not to quit party

Some of the dissenting Janajati leaders of the CPN-UML have agreed not to quit the party following talks with the party leadership on Thursday.

Issuing a press statement, party secretary Bishnu Paudel said that politburo members Prithvi Subba Gurung and Ram Chandra Jha and central committee members Kiran Gurung, Dal Bahadur Sunar and Bir Bahadur Lama would return to party works with the party decided to institutionally hold discussions on their differences over the restructuring of the state.

The disgruntled leaders had been boycotting party's meetings accusing the leadership of going against voices of Janajatis and Madhesis for identity-based federalism.

Party chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and K.P Oli and general secretary Ishwor Pokhrel among other were present in the meeting. nepalnews.com
