Sita Air crash victims identified

The identity of all 19 victims of Friday morning’s Sita Air plane crash in Bhaktapur has been ascertained.

According to Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN), seven Nepalis, seven British and five Chinese passengers died when their plane en route to Lukla crashed on the banks of Manohara River in Thimi, just a few kilometers east of Tribhuvan International Airport at 6:20 am.

Among the seven Nepalis who died were three crew members - Pilot Bijay Tandukar, Co-pilot Takashi Thapa, Air hostess Ruju Shakya – and four passengers D Rai, Nepal Army official Kumar Marsyandi Magar, M Tamang and LN Sherpa.

British nationals killed in the crash are Raymond Eagle, Vincent Kelly, Darren Kelly, Christopher Francis Davey, Timothy Oakes, Stephen Holding, Benjamin Ogden. Similarly, the Chinese nationals have been identified as Chen Yang, Mingwu Qian, Lin Wu, Zhihua Yang and Hui Wu. nepalnews.com
