Govt forms committee to probe plane crash

The government has formed a three-member committee to investigate Friday morning's Sita Air plane crash in Bhaktapur.

The committee headed by former secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation Nagendra Prasad Ghimire has been given three-month deadline to present its findings. The probe committee has MK Shrestha, the deputy director (Engineering) of Agni Air, as member and undersecretary of the tourism ministry Suresh Acharya as member secretary.

All 19 persons on board were killed in the plane crash that occurred at 6:20 am, minutes after take-off from Kathmandu Airport. The Dornier plane was flying to Lukla carrying seven Nepali passengers and seven British and five Chinese tourists to Lukla. nepalnews.com
