UCPN (M), Madhesi leaders object to Baidya party's ban on Indian vehicles
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, UCPN (Maoist) chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal and Madheshi leaders have objected to the decision of Mohan Baidya led CPN Maoist-imposed ban on the vehicles with Indian number plate in Nepal.
Some leaders of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) held meeting with PM Bhattarai and Dahal on Friday discussing common stance on the recent decision of the UCPN-Maoist regarding the ban on Indian number plate vehicles and Hindi movie in the country.
According to Sadbhawana Party Co-chairman Laxman Lal Karna, they have agreed to prosecute CPN-Maoist cadres if they are involved in violent activities while enforcing the decision.
"We apprised PM and Dahal about possible shortage of daily commodities including gas, kerosene, food in the Madhes region if the CPN-Maoist enforced ban" he said.
Meanwhile, issuing a press release, the UDMF said the ban was against the welfare of Madhesi people and it would have adverse impact on the existing cordial ties between Nepal and India. nepalnews.com
