NC prez Koirala saved from being attacked by a cadre

Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala was saved from being attacked by a party cadre at a gathering in Kathmandu on Saturday.

A NC cadre whose identity has been ascertained as Prabesh Basnet tried to attack Koirala with wood plank while he was attending a programme of NC Kathmanu constituency- 4 in Kapan.

However, Koirala was not hurt after other cadres defended him from the attack. The motive in the attempted attack is yet to be known.

NC cadre Narmada Pokhreal was injured while saving Koirala from the attack.

Party's general secretaries Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula were also present in the function which was disrupted for a while due to the incident.

Meanwhile, police has started interrogating Basnet after taking him into custody. nepalnews.com
