Women’s National T20 Cricket: APF secure fourth win, Baitadi top Group B

Armed Police Force (APF) defeated Region No.7 Janakpur by 64 runs to secure fourth straight win from Group B of the ongoing Wai Wai Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament played at Rangashala Ground in Pokhara on Saturday.

APF have already advanced to semi-finals from Group B of the ongoing tournament.

Electing to bat first, APF posted a target of 122 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs against Janakpur with Sita Rana Magar scoring highest 49 runs while Rubina Chettri scored 26 runs and Sarita Magar 16 runs.

Chasing the target, Janakpur ended up with only 57 runs losing eight wickets. Rubina Chettri grabbed three wickets and Sarita Magar took two wickets while Sonu Khadka, Binu Budha Magar and Neera Rajopadhaya took one wicket each.

Similarly, Region No. 5 Nepalgunj defeated Region No.8 Pokhara by 87 runs in another match from Group B played at the same venue today. Nepalgunj scored total 130 runs losing three wickets as Manisha Rawal scored highest of 37 runs, Sanju Chaudhary 36 runs, Trishna Singh 15 runs and Geeta Gosai 13 runs.

In return, Pokhara collected 43 runs losing eight wickets as Nepalgunj’s Trishna alone grabbed three wickets while Rekha BC took two wickets. Samana Pun and Nary Thapa took one wicket each.

In the Group A match, Region No. 6 Baitadi defeated Region No.3 Kathmandu by five wickets to secure second consecutive victory played at Nagar Bikash Ground today. So far, Baitadi are also at the top of the Group A table with 4 points from two matches.

Electing to bat first, Kathmandu posted a target of 44 runs losing all their wickets in 19.1 overs as Baitadi’s bowlers Roshani Bohara took three wickets while Rekha Rawal and Chetana Bohara took two wickets each and Anjali Chand one.

Baitadi easily met the target at 13.3 overs losing five wickets as Roshani Bohara contributed 20 runs.

Similarly, Region No. 4 Bhairahawa defeated Region No. 2 Birgunj by seven wickets in Group A match played at Nagar Bikash Ground.

Birgunj were all out with 82 runs in 18.4 overs. Soniya Poudel, Sudha Thapa, Pooja Bhandari and Indu Berma claimed two wickets each for Bhairahawa.

Chasing the target, Bhairahawa easily met the target in 12.3 overs losing three wickets as Indu Berma scored 20 runs and Saraswati Pun 19 runs.
