NSU expels Basnet for attacking NC prez Koirala

The Nepal Student's Union (NSU) has expelled Prabesh Basnet from the organisation's general membership for a period of two years for attacking.

Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala with wood plank while the latter was attending a programme in Kapan on Saturday.

NSU, the students wing of Nepali Congress, also condemned the attack on Koirala and demanded the government investigate the incident.

NSU cadre Basnet had tried to attack Koirala while he was attending a programme of NC Kathmanu constituency- 4 in Kapan.

Koirala was not hurt after other cadres defended him from the attack. The motive in the attempted attack is yet to be known.
