Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala Sunday said she was not in favour of launching protest programmes against UCPN (Maoist) led coalition government as it would spoil possibility of consensus among the parties.

Talking to the journalists at Biratnagar airport, she said it was worthless to take to the streets against the government at a time when negotiation, unity and consensus was required for the nation.

"Launching protest just to replace the Prime Minister is meaningless," she said.

Koirala also expressed serious objection to the decision of her own party to include Mohan Baidya led CPN-Maoist in the joint protest of the opposition parties.

"It will be counter productive for Congress if CPN-Maoist is allowed to participate in the joint protest," she added. nepalnews.com
