Regmi confident ongoing talks with poll-opposing parties will bear fruit
Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi, has expressed confidence that the talks initiated by High Level Political Committee (HLPC) with poll-opposing parties will soon reach to a desired conclusion.
Speaking at an interaction ogragnised by National Election Observation Committee Nepal in the capital on Thursday, he said the political parties that believe in democracy and the politicians actively involved in safeguarding democratic ideals believe that the initiatives taken by the government to hold talks with the poll-opposing parties was “positive” and “in the interest of” all concerned.
Regmi said that the ongoing negotiations and talks has played a crucial role in helping facilitate as well as ease the current political situation in the country.
The IEC chair said that at a time when various sorts of programmes are going on to carry out the November 19 election, the government, Election Commission, political parties and concerned stakeholders are engaged in an effort to make the polls a success. Nepalnews.com
