World Indigenous Day observed in Nepal raising livelihood, inclusion issues
The 19th World Indigenous Day was observed in Nepal on Friday organising various programs and highlighting different issues of indigenous people including livelihood and inclusion.
A special program was organised in Tudikhel, Kathmandu, which was attended by the Chairman of Interim Election Council, Khil Raj Regmi.
Addressing the program, Regmi said the issues of equality and social justice raised by the indigenous people should be taken positively.
"In the days ahead, the government will make proper arrangements for the upliftment and welfare of indigenous communities," Regmi said, adding that only by attaining political stability, rights of all communities can be ensured.
"Election is the medium which helps us move forward on the way to stability," he said.
Various communities demonstrated their culture, attire and dance during the program which was addressed by leaders of various parties and communities. Nepalnews.com
