HLPC continuing talks with 33-party alliance, Ashok Rai
The high-level political committee (HLPC) that signed a six-point deal with Upendra Yadav-led Federal Democratic Madhesi Front (FDMF) last night is set to hold separate talks with the 33-party alliance led by Mohan Baidya's CPN-Maoist and Ashok Rai's Federal Socialist Party (FSP) on Friday.
The meeting with FSP is to start at 4 pm at the HLPC office, Naya Baneshwor. Sources claimed that an agreement is very likely with Rai's party today as the HLPC has already expressed readiness to reshuffle itself to bring in the disgruntled parties and revise the 25-point decree, as demanded by the FSP.
The demand for more proportional seats in the Constituent Assembly has already been addressed through last night's six-point agreement with Yadav's alliance and the FSP is like to go accept, sources said.
As per the agreement, there will be 335 proportional seats in the CA and the FDMF will now be part of the HLPC.
The four-party mechanism is also likely to hold a meeting with representatives of the 33-party alliance. Nepalnews.com
