33 party-alliance 'positive' towards participating in 2nd CA polls
The talks between the 33 party-alliance led by CPN-Maoist and the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) ended with 'positive note' late on Friday night, as both the parties said chances of the poll-opposing group participating in the second Constituent Assembly polls have increased significantly.
"The talks are heading towards a positive direction," said Deb Gurung, secretary, CPN-Maoist, who headed the 33 parties in the dialogue.
In the talks which lasted for more than five hours, the 33 parties raised the issue of correcting the electoral process and asked the HLPC to be clear on the contents of the constitution to be drafted by the new Constituent Assembly.
"We are well aware that there are many complications in the talks with the 33 party-alliance. It is difficult to understand their exact strategy and what they mean actually. But we are positive for talks," said a minister who took part in the meeting.
The next round of talks is scheduled for Sunday. Nepalnews.com
