Demands of poll-opposing CPN-M can be addressed only on condition of not postponing Nov 19 polls: Dahal
UCPN(M) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the four major party-led High Level Political Committee (HLPC) can become very flexible on the demands put forth by poll-opposing breakaway party CPN-M only if the latter agrees to forgo its call to postpone the election scheduled to be held underthe leadership of the current government on November 19.
Addressing a mass gathering organised by his party in Butwal of Rupandehi district on Saturday to jumpstart campaign to ensure the election to the second Constituent Assemby (CA), leader Dahal also expressed confidence that the Federal Socialist Party led by Ashok Rai will soon come into understanding and agree to participate in the upcoming polls.
He also said that the 6-point agreement forged with Sanghiya Loktantric Mukti Morcha led by Upendra Yadav late Thursday night has ensured free and fair polls in the Terai districts of Nepal.
In another topic, the UCPN (M) chairperson said that if Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, can be developed as the religious and spiritual center of followers of Buddhism all over the world then it will contribute greatly to the development of tourism in Nepal. Nepalnews.com
