Community lodge in Dhorpatan for tourists
A community lodge has been constructed near the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve in Baglung for the convenience of tourists visiting the site from home and abroad.
It was established at the cost of Rs. 3.4 million. Different local organisations provided financial assistance and locals provided voluntary labour for the construction of the lodge, Lodge Construction Committee Chairman Sherman Ghartimagar told state-owned news agency RSS. Dhorpatan is the sole hunting reserve of Nepal.
MEDEP, a non-governmental organisation, provided Rs. 1.5 million, local Uttarganga Temple Construction Committee Rs 1.35 million, and District Development Committee Baglung, Bobang VDC and Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry were among those assisting for the construction of the 12-room lodge.
No modern hotels and lodges were there in the reserve area and tourists had problems for accommodation in the area.
