Can’t imagine CA polls taking place without participation of Baidya-led CPN-M: Koirala
President of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala has said he and his party can’t even imagine a Constituent Assembly polls in which CPN-M is not participating, adding that NC is not afflicted with the over confidence of heading to polls without forging consensus with all parties and without everyone on election fray.
Koirala made this remark during a meeting with a delegation of Reporters Club Nepal that has started holding parleys with top political party leaders in order to press them to hold timely election.
The NC president’s remark also comes at a time when a section of the political spectrum is saying that the election to the second Constituent Assembly should be held even if the alliance of poll-opposing parties led by CPN-M doesn’t enter election fray.
On the occasion Koirala expressed confidence that the election scheduled for November 19 will be held in a free, fair and a conducive environment with the participation of all political parties.
“It is our responsibility to bring Baidya-led CPN-M and the alliance of poll-opposing parties into election fray. We can't even imagine a Constituent Assembly polls in which CPN-M is not participating,” he said. nepalnews.com
