A 17-member delegation of Nepal Government officers and farmers left for Japan Saturday to attend an 18-day local governance course under the 'Training Program for Young Leaders-2013' organized by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
According to a JICA statement, under the training program, young leaders from developing countries like Nepal are invited to Japan and given training in their fields of specialisation as well as opportunities to meet and associate with Japanese people.
The participants further get an opportunity to experience Japanese lifestyle and culture, which helps promote mutual understanding and friendship between the Nepali and the Japanese people, added the statement.
JICA started the 'Training Program for Young Leaders' in Nepal in 1994. Since then, more than 340 Nepali officials have received training in Japan. Nepalnews.com
