Revenue collection up by 28 pc in first month of FY 2013/14
The revenue collection of the government has increased by 28.87 percent to Rs 24.67 billion during the first month of the current fiscal year 2013/14.
The government had collected Rs 19.15 billion during the same month last fiscal year 2012/13.
According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the government has collected Rs 9.29 billion from VAT, Rs 2.94 billion from excise duty, Rs 4.3 billion from income tax and Rs 2.24 billon from registration and vehicle taxes.
Similarly, the government has collected Rs 725.4 million from non-tax, which is an increment by 94.9 percent compared to the same month last fiscal year. Nepalnews.com
