CIAA instructs Ministries to supply employees to vacant offices
Amid arrests of many government employees, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday instructed three Ministries (Labour and Employment, Home and Energy) to not keep offices under them empty and appoint employees immediately.
The CIAA instruction has come at a time when the service receivers have complained of the lack of human resources in the public service providing offices under these three Ministries.
For instance, in the airport-based immigration office, it was reported that the foreign-bound Nepalis were denied services citing lack of human resources.
As of today, the CIAA has arrested more than 50 government employees on charges of corruption. Some have been filed lawsuits at the Special Court, while some are awaiting lawsuits against them inside the CIAA custody. Nepalnews.com
