Suspension bridges in dilapidated condition

Most of the suspension bridges in Bajura district are in a highly risky condition. The bridges are not well maintained, locals told state-owned news agency RSS.

The bridges on the Achham-Bajura road section over the Ikadi stream, Barju stream, the Budi river, and the Guigad, Dahakot, Ghatmana, Martadi, and Pipalchaur suspension bridges are in a dilapidated condition.

Movement of people and livestock has become very risky due to this. But the authorities concerned have not taken this matter seriously, it is learnt. Although the District Development Committee annually carries out the maintenance of the bridges, it is not enough, locals lamented.
