Govt collects Rs. 134.57 b in revenue in six months
The government has collected Rs. 134.57 billion in revenue during the first six months of the current fiscal year, an increase by 21.57 percent compared to the same period last year recorded Rs. 111.03 billion.
According to the Finance Ministry, the government has collected Rs. 27.07 billion in customs duty, Rs. 40.13 billion in value added tax (VAT), Rs. 30.64 billion in income tax, Rs. 17.69 billion in excise duty, Rs. 1.74 billion in registration fees, Rs. 2.15 billion in vehicle tax and Rs .14.5 billion in non-tax sources.
The tax revenue has increased by 25.72 percent while non-tax revenue dropped by 6.56 percent during the review period, said the Ministry. Nepalnews.com
