Surkhet shut down by students
Normal life in Surkhet has been affected due to a bandh (shutdown strike) imposed by six student unions on Friday.
The student unions affiliated to various political parties said they were compelled to enforce the bandh in Surkhet town as the top officials of Mid-Western University turned a deaf ear to their demands.
Educational institutions, factories remained shut while vehicular movement came to a grinding halt in Surkhet due to the protests by students demanding reduction in university fees and stopping any political appointments in the university, among others. Nepalnews.com
