Tipsy policeman on the run with arms, ammunition
A junior policeman stationed at a temporary police post in Harkapur, Okhaldhunga has been on the run after 'stealing' five three-not-three rifles and a cache of bullets on Friday night, police said.
According to police Kulman Gole, who was under the influence of alcohol, ran away with the weapons when the station chief was out patrolling the area at around 9 pm on Friday night. He is also learnt to have fired in the air before running away.
Nepali Police Spokesperson DIG Keshav Adhikari said police personnel have been deployed to look for Gole. He said that four of the rifles have been recovered from various parts of the district as well as the neighbouring Udayapur District. Nepalnews.com |
