One killed, 30 injured in Sankhu bus accident

At least one person was killed and 30 others injured as a passenger bus veered off the road near Jarsipauwa, Sankhu in Kathmandu, on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the incident took place at around 4 pm as the bus (Na 3 Kha 8555) was headed to Kathmandu from Melamchi, Sindhupalchok. The deceased has been identified as Dal Bahadur Sarki of Melamchi.

Eighteen of the injured have been rushed to People's Life Care Poly Clinic, Sankhu. Similarly, 12 of them have been sent to Shankharapur hospital in Jorpati.

The driver of the bus is on the run, police said. Nepalnews.com
