Two killed in crossfire as police rescue abducted minor in Parsa
Two persons, believed to have kidnapped an eight year old in Birgunj two weeks ago, were killed as police rescued the minor from a house in Bhedihahi, Parsa, on Monday morning.
Slok Agrawal (8) of Birgunj had gone missing since January 24, police said. A special police squad led by SP Pitambar Adhikari successfully rescued the child from the house of Ram Nath Giri, said local police. Officials said there was an exchange of fire between the alleged kidnappers and police personnel.
Those killed in the crossfire have been identified as Sanjay Giri and Bindeshwor Prasad of Bhedihai. They breathed their last while undergoing treatment at Birgunj-based National Medical College.Six others who have been accused of abeting the kidnappers have been held, said Police.
