Reconstruction works on Lalitpur's Bhimsen Temple hits a snag
Works on reconstruction of the Bhimsen Temple in Lalitpur have stalled for lack of funds.
The reconstruction of the temple was started some two years back after the wall of the temple on its north side cracked and was on the verge of collapsing any moment, state-owned news agency RSS reported.
Devotees coming to the temple for homage are doing so under the constant risk of the wall falling down.
People have started to express worries over the dilapidated condition of the wall and also the roof of the temple. They have demanded that the temple be reconstructed at the earliest.
The reconstruction works had started two years back with the financial support of the Department of Archaeology. But the Department has stopped the reconstruction works citing lack of budget for the purpose. The reconstruction works have been stalled for the last seven years. Nepalnews.com
