'Remains found under UK parking lot that of King Richard III'

British researchers said on Monday that skeletal remains found under a parking lot in an English Midlands city were those of King Richard II, British media reported.

British scientists said are convinced "beyond reasonable doubt" that a skeleton found during an archaeological dig in Leicester, central England, last August is that of the former king, who was killed at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485.

Richard Buckley, the lead archaeologist on a project to identify the bones, told mediapersons that tests and research since the remains were discovered last September proved “beyond reasonable doubt” that the “individual exhumed” from a grave under the parking lot was “indeed Richard III, the last Plantagenet king of England.” Nepalnews.com
