CPN-Maoist calls off Feb 10 strike saying it clashed with Lhosar festivals, auspicious marriage date
CPN-Maoist has called off its Nepal bandh (general strike) program it had announced for February 10.
The radical party, a splinter of ruling UCPN (Maoist), called off its day-long strike saying that their previously announced bandh program
coincided with Sonam Lhosar festival celebrated by the Tamang community and auspicious date for marriage.
Earlier, the party had called the bandh against attempts to open conflict-era cases against Maoists in Dailekh district in sharp violation
of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and Interim Constitution. Nepalnews.com
