Alternatives for govt leadership can be discussed if Maoists guarantee polls by May: KC
A senior Nepali Congress leader has said that the issue as to who should get government leadership can be discussed if the ruling UCPN (Maoist) comes up with a clear roadmap to hold the second Constituent Assembly elections.
Arjun Narsingh KC, who is the central member of NC, said that if the ruling party presents a work-plan to resolve the political deadlock facing the country guaranteeing the elections by Jestha 15 (May 2013) then the parties can hold discussion on all alternatives for leadership of the new national consensus government.
Speaking at an interaction program in the capital on Monday, the NC leader, however, said that the parties would not accept Maoist chairman Dahal’s proposal to give the new government leadership to a non-partisan individual. nepalnews.com |
